One Thing.... from Class February 4, 2014
Class on Tuesday was a very helpful lesson that I think can be beneficial to not only myself but everyone. Pronouns are a very important part of writing and I will admit myself it is hard to know when to and not to use them. I still don't know 100% where they are supposed to show up and not, mainly because I myself am so accustomed to just writing and speaking without ever really giving it a second thought. Although, when it does come to formal writing that I have to complete, being a college student and all, I do have to stop and check and wrack my brain constantly with overthinking on the right way to say things, and what goes where, who replaces what, and when to answer why.
After learning that you cannot start a sentence referencing that "They say more snow is on the way," and hearing that I don't even understand who is talking, I realized that I more often than not am very vague with my own explanations and sentences. I have began to try and be more specific with information that I am trying to explain, and making sure that I get the right clarity for who I am talking about, and who is saying what. So today they do say that more snow is on the way, but how am I to trust and believe who they are and that their predictions are correct? I go and watch the weather and realize that metereoligists at WICU say that there in fact, is more snow on the way.
